its quite ironic that you cant forget “I Forgot”
The Quote that has run with us for the last year, through the good times and the bad.

A LOT has happened since my last blog post on here and i promise I will find a way of making the others blog occasionally!

So the last year what has happened?? i have provided a short list below:

Jan 2012- We were offered an amazing opportunity to play at one the most prestigious venues in the world "The Cavern" in Liverpool (if you don't know why its so famous Google it, shouldn't take long to work out) unfortunately Ash didn't want to come to that one so Myself, Damo, Rich & Phil took that one on without him and it went well (even if we did play to a handful of people) this made us realize that we can perform (and quite well at that) as a 4 piece should something go wrong.

March 2012 -The "something" went wrong around the end of march when Ash decided he didn't want to be in the band any more! =*(

April 2012 - This was very quickly solved by Rich inviting one of his colleges from work to jam with us which led to a very quick and fruitful relationship his name was Hayden and he fastly became not only a member of the band but also a very close friend.

June 2012 - We were one of 3 headlining bands at the Studham Jubilee Festival in my home village it may not seem like a big deal but it was huge especially to me, to show all my neighbors and my family that all that "noise" wasn't for nothing, hell it even shocked my brother and sister as they had no idea i could sing =) we even got an amazing quote in our local magazine"I Forgot, the band of local base player Ben, then showed their colors by playing original material and proving Studham really has got talent" this one line pretty much made my year so thanks to everyone that came along to that.

July 2012 - We were again invited to a very prestigious venue to play a very exclusive event the "Music Industry Showcase" for JAR Music Live at the O2 academy Islington (this was a special event for me as the then named "Carling Academy" was where i saw my first ever concert" unfortunately things didn't go to well for us at the event, after spending the amount of time, money & energy we had  on the band we were kicked off stage after 1/2 of our set and this really did leave us thinking "Why do we bother??"

August 2012 - after a few weeks off we got back together and focused on writing new material and polishing what we already had (at this point we had probably a total of around 5/6 songs that were usable  we have now extended that to pretty much a full album!

November 2012 - Hayden had made clear to us when he joined us that he was leaving for a year to live in Toronto Canada but this didn't make it any easier when it was time to say goodbye =*( with me breaking down into tears at his leaving party (and not being able to find him after midnight) we parted ways with the amazing guitarist.

December 2012 - A breakthrough after much discussion with JAR Music about the terrible ordeal we were put through at the showcase I managed to get us a Headline Spot at a Venue in London called the Water Rats (which had only just been confirmed as a venue JAR would be using starting Feb 2013) with original plans for our date to be mid Feb (this was then postponed due to Richard having his second baby due at the same time) this meant we needed to find a new guitarist and fast, although we had the experience of playing as a 4 piece we had essentially re-written our entire repetouir for a second guitar. Introducing Stuart - another very talented musician but unfortunately he had to travel a very long way to come to practice and it just wasn't worth it =(

Jan 2013 - a bit of a slow month to get going really we had lost most of our focus and everyone seemed to be turning to me for inspiration / guidance. We finally got the date for our show set in stone for the 16th March 2013 which was perfect (mainly because Phil & I had already got plans just a couple of miles away on the 17th to go and see Bullet for My Valentine & Halestorm).

Feb 2013 - with Stuart gone we were left once again in a lurch, 1 guitarist for a full headlining slot at a very nice venue with material written for 2 guitars but Myself and Phil almost instantaneously had the same idea introducing (hopefully the last person to join I Forgot) Mike Pocock my ex-flatmate and until recently estranged best friend, oddly enough we found out that Mike has over the last decade worked with not only myself but also Damo & Rich & currently with Phil so that was an added bonus. Mike is joining us as Bassist and i will be moving over to (initially) take up the position of Rythym guitarist until funds permit that i can buy a Synth where i will be on either guitar or synth to add a new level of Uniqueness to the band.

That list is not particularly everything that has happened its pretty much the very little bits that have kept us together over the last year but we believe that 2013 is the The Year That Everyone Remembers I Forgot!!!
